Department Of Computer Science & Engineering
Established in August 1983, the department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technology Warangal, has been in constant pursuit of excellence.
In this year, NIT Warangal was ranked overall 8th in a Dataquest-IDC-Nasscom survey of Indian T-Schools, the first among NITs and just after the IITs. Last year, the department tied up with Sun Microsystems Inc., for a project on smart-cards for Solaris 10. Origin of the Department:
Department of Computer Science & Engineering was formed in the year 1991.
Prior to 1991, Computer Science & Engineering was part of Department of Electronics and Computer Science.
B. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering was started in the year 1983 and started M. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering in 1987.
From the year 2002, M. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering is made open only to CSE graduates and curriculum was accordingly enhanced.
Department also conducted an M. Tech (CSE) for three batches under Cross Migration Scheme for the in-service teachers.
