Electronics Man of the Year 2014:
Sri P Sudhakar (1977 Batch) Chairman and Managing Director, Electronics and Corporation of India Limited, A Government of India Enterprise under Department of Atomic Energy, is selected as ‘Electronics Man of the Year 2014′ by Electronics Industries Association (ELCINA) the oldest and largest association representing the Electronics Manufacturing Industry in India. ELCINA’s Electronics Man of the Year award was to recognize the extraordinary contributions by individuals towards growth and strengthening of Electronics Industry in India. The selection committee for this award comprise of senior industry captians from electronics Industry.
At a glittering Annual Awards presentation ceremony held on September 26, 2014 in New Delhi, the award is presented to Sri P Sudhakar by Sri Anil Swarup, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India. The honour of Electronics Man of the Year has been bestowed to Sri P Sudhakar for his unparalled contributions to the growth of manufacturing and expansion of applications of electronics and information technology as well as research and development and assimilation of new technologies. The eminent jury members recognized Sri P Sudhakar’s outstanding achievements in leading ECIL to great heights, achieving the highest ever turnover, ramping up production to support the Indian Electronics machinery as well as several other initiatives in expanding the activities of ECIL in new arena.
Some of the previous receipients of this award include exceptional achievers such as Sri Ratan Tata, Prof UR Rao, Sri Mukesh Ambani, Sri NR Narayana Murthy, Sri Azim Premzi, Sunil Bharti Mittal and a number of other luminaries.
Sri P Sudhakar has been serving ECIL since 1979 and has been steadfast in his committment to Electronics and development of systems for Nuclear Aerospace, Defence, Security as well as Information Technology and e-governance programs. Sri P Sudhakar graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the erstwhile Regional Engineering College, Warangal in 1977.
