Brief Report

During the period, 1st October – 31st December 2017, six Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) have been conducted successfully including the ‘One month Induction Training Programme’ which is mandated by Group of Secretaries, Govt. of India.

All the FDPs organized by TLC, had specific objectives and were aimed at enhancing the effectiveness teaching-learning process in higher education. FDPs involved active trainees of the participants through Hands-On Activities / Practical Exercises / Laboratory Sessions to ensure that the outcomes are commensurate with the objectives. The programmes included General Pedagogy, Pedagogical Practices in specific domains, Subject Specific Content Knowledge and Use of Technology in Education. The Participants were chosen from different regions in the country with diverse background in disciplines, age groups, and social categories. Evaluation of the training was done by holding tests at the end of the FDPs and responses of the participants revealed that they have acquired the intended knowledge and skills. The Participants of every programme have expressed that the FDPs of TLC have made a positive impact on their teaching and evaluation. The feedback obtained from the trainees indicated that the programmes are conducted systematically and purposefully.
