Winter Workshop on “AI Robotics for Sustainable Environment and Rare Earth Innovations
A Two-day Winter Workshop on “AI Robotics for Sustainable Environment and Rare Earth Innovations” was
held from 2–3 March 2026 alongside the 9th Heritage Network General Assembly Meeting 2026 at the Indian
Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India. The workshop brought together Ph.D. scholars
from partner institutions to explore interdisciplinary research opportunities in artificial
intelligence, robotics, environmental sustainability, and rare earth materials.
The program aimed to foster academic collaboration and encourage emerging researchers to contribute to
innovative technologies that support sustainable development. Participants engaged with faculty experts
through lectures, student presentations, and interactive discussions, creating a dynamic platform for
knowledge exchange.
Key topics covered during the workshop included AI-driven environmental monitoring, autonomous drones
for sustainable resource management, machine learning models for climate-resilient robotics,
energy-efficient robotic design, and rare earth element recovery and recycling for green technologies.
Discussions also highlighted advancements in material science involving rare earth applications.
By combining expert talks with student research showcases, the workshop encouraged interdisciplinary
thinking and collaboration among young researchers. At the end of the program, participating scholars
were felicitated for recognizing their active involvement in the workshop. From National Institute of
Technology Warangal, Mr. Uppala Lavakumar, Research Scholar from the Department of Civil Engineering,
