Gram Sabha in Adopated villages

The Gram Sabha is the fulcrum of the Panchayati Raj and village development. The Panchayat implements development programs under the overarching mandate, supervision and monitoring of the Gram Sabha.

Conducted Gram Sabha in School – Children, teachers and villagers were along with UBA – RCI Team actively participated in the gram Sabha and interacted with the adopted villages.

Participatory Learning and Action (PLA)

Mobilize: Mobilization is never a problem for villagers. They usually show great interest in any outsider visiting their village. Preference for leisure is seasonal. The village community is usually busy with their agricultural operations. You need to win them over and start mobilizing them for an ensured participation in the PLA and the specific mobilization techniques will help. Contact the peers in the village and visit housesolds. People may be curious to know why they need to participate. So, students need to give them cogent reasons with empathy.

Social Mapping

Social map gives a profile of the village and provides insights into its social aspects and peoples social life. These include household structures, social categories, caste, religion, education, occupation, women headed households, and infrastructure (schools, roads, hospitals, postoffices etc.). It helps determine who lives where and how the community members interact with one and another.

Group Discussion

Focus group discussion is a methodology, whereby small groups are enabled to focus on a subject of their choice, with members articulating their views on it. The idea is to enable the participants to come up with diverse or unanimous opinions. It may be homogenous, heterogeneous or both; depending upon issues taken up.
